This mold is taller then our other Saint Maure cheese mold and also has a closed bottom.

Saint Maure is a classic goat cheese originating from the Loire region of France and has been made there in much the same way for over one thousand years. It can be easily recognized by its long form and small log-like shape.

This simple log shape or 'Buche' has been copied throughout the world, so it is no surprise that so many goat cheeses in our supermarkets today are presented in the familiar log-like tube with the plastic robes.

    DIMENSIONS:  2-1/2" top diameter, tapering to 2" at bottom, 10-1/4"H (65mm x 50mm x 260mm)

DETAILS: Closed bottom, FDA approved food grade polypropylene cheese mold.

    COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: France

    Cons:
    • Hard to handle

    Hard to unmold

I really like the size, but it's hard to get the log out without breaking it.

    Cons:
    From:

    very sturdy form

This form is made from nice and thick plastic. It does not bend or deform when full. There are little "legs" on the bottom to hold it up so the whey can drip from the closed bottom.
