    These reed cheese mats are used for air drying cheeses, particularly soft, mold ripened ones. They are also used for the turning and draining of Camembert, Coulommiers and Brie.

    DESCRIPTION: 9"x9" Bamboo Reed Mat

    TO CLEAN:  Rinse well with cold water after use, then wash with hot water and a neutral alkaline cleanser or dairy wash. We do not recommend using commercial detergents for this product. 
    If mat is really hard to clean you can soak in the dairy wash before giving it a good scrub. If mat still retains an odor after a good cleaning, try hanging outdoors in the sun for awhile, this is the traditional method used in Europe!

    Very nice quality, they are a bit higher maintenance due to being a natural product but worth it.

    Excellent Mat

    The mat was excellent at keeping the curds in the molds and providing good air movement for the bottom of the curds as well. It also gave the curds a nice pattern on them. Easy to work with and easy to flip molds with.

    I love these, the feel of them, how they clean up and how well they hold up over time. I would recommend them over plastic.

    Perfect for drying cheese

    We really should order more of these. We never have enough! They are perfect for drying cheese and wash easily.

    Good mat

    These are very helpful to have on hand for drying or aging cheese. It allows air-flow underneath, and I like the imprint it can leave on the cheese. If the cheese gets moldy it can get between the bamboo, so it will require a good brush to scrub between them.

    I like the looks when you've got a hunk of cheese drying on top of one,perfect size for all my cheeses,easy clean up

    Works but there are better ways to dry

    These work good but personally I don't like the clean up. If you're room drying for a couple weeks this mat will need to be cleaned every few days or you'll get mold between the reeds. And the twine used to weave the reeds together will leave indents on the cheese. I switched to using plastic mats. I just bought plastic canvas at a local hobby shop.
