The Rennet worked great. I made mozzarella, with beautiful results. I can't wait to try making other types of cheese!

Effective and Cost-Effective

Rating:

Pros:
  • easy dosing
  • effective coagulation
  • cost effective
Cons:
  • shorter shelf life
From: Fayetteville, AR
This is my go-to rennet when making cheese at home and for class demonstrations. It's very effective, and I prefer vegetarian rennet to animal rennet. However, the actual shelf life from the time of shipping was actually a few months less than the time-frame printed on the bottle, so be aware if you are having coagulation problems. Good price!

It is easier to work with than the tablets, but requires a little bit more time to set the cheese curds

I've used both tablet and liquid for the 30 minute mozzarella and really prefer the liquid. Both are great products though, just prefer liquid.

Vegetable rennet does really well

Rating:

Pros:
  • great quality
  • plant based
  • vegetarian
Cons:
  • double strength confusing to some
From: San Clemente
I have really enjoyed using this vegetable rennet. It produces a great curd, particularly with store purchased milk. Please note that it IS double strength and will curdle your milk if you use too much, so take care to 1/2 your quantity in your recipe that calls for single strength.or does not say what strength. I also would recommend to keep this and animal rennet in the fridge as it is a food product.
