Our Royal Castle
We think this is probably the only free castle tour in the world, so walk around the house and then come on in ...
We created this walkway ourselves last summer. Those are not stone slabs- they are huge boulders with the flattest sides up!
Jamie helped lay a new roof last year. He had made the hearts the year before when the house was stained and painted.
The front porch is a beautiful spot to sit in the shade and watch the Canada geese stroll by ...
This shot was taken in early spring before the gardens had bloomed.
There's a hot tub in there!
That's the "barn" way in back with a small sweat lodge next to it.
Just when we were taking this photo of the side of the house, a visitor popped out.
Our Living Room
The fabulous furniture was upholstered by Robert Harman (harmanfurniture.com).
We frequently host musical events here and we have been known to seat over 100 guests at a time!
This past year, Richard Dunbrack (The Thieving Magpie) remodelled our kitchen in his crazy fun style. The pictures don't really capture the effect, but you'll see it when you come to a workshop!
This mural dates back to when N.E.C.S. used to have a booth at the Eastern States Exposition every year, serving apple pie with cheese on top.
Our Workshop Room
The overhead mirror enables everyone to see the pots on the table below.
Our Angel Bathroom
How's this for a cute little bathroom?
Richard Dunbrack created these amazing structures and we have collected quite a few of them.
While the weather's beautiful, let's go outside again ...
Until recently, the "barn" used to be a broken down storage shed. Last summer, we decided to fix it up and now we are now turning it into a gorgeous work space for creating art, singing and just hanging out. We installed all the fabulous windows you see, replaced the roof, re-did the barn boards, etc, etc.
This wall is going to be entirely mosaic. In fact, guests at our wedding will be able to participate in this if they wish- laying on pieces of tile, glass beads, etc.
We both enjoy planting things and watching them grow. I concentrate mainly on the flowers and shrubs, while Jamie manages the vegetable garden.
I love to take little nooks in the trees and turn them into living spaces.
Jamie expanded the garden this year, so now we have fresh greens and veggies for our salads most of the summer.
This photo of the bee boxes is a little blurred because the photographer didn't want to get too close. You can understand that!
The Other Season
Thanks for visiting. Hopefully, we'll see you at one of our workshops. We aren't doing as many as we used to, so they fill up fast. To see the current schedule- click here.We would say, "Come on by ..." but last year we moved the business to 54B Whately Rd. in South Deerfield, MA. So, if you're in the area, you can come there to see us and buy supplies. Happy cheesemaking!
