Sarah Carroll, daughter of the famous "Cheese Queen," is passionate about sharing her lifelong knowledge of home cheese making. Inspired by the art of home cheese making Sarah has created a dynamic day long workshop to share the basic principals home cheese making.

The art of cheese making is an ancient one - going back to the beginnings of civilization. Throughout history, this art has been passed down from generation to generation, but in recent years, this family craft has almost disappeared. 37 years ago our company set out to reverse this trend, starting workshops to teach people this wonderful skill. Participants came from around the country, learning techniques and sampling homemade cheeses and other delicious dairy products.

With close to four decades of dedication in this field , we have seen a real revival of home cheese making around the world. It has been a very exciting adventure! These workshops will simplify the technicalities of the cheese making process for you. In our beginners class you will have fun, see the art and magic in producing delicious simple cheeses, and be able to leave feeling more confident about trying to make all types of delicious dairy products in your kitchen.

This introductory workshop includes:

  • A full day of making cheese and other delicious dairy products. 10am-4pm
  • Make a basic Hard Cheese, Whole Milk and Whey Ricotta, Creme Fraiche, Mascarpone, Queso Blanco, 30 Minute Mozzarella and Yogurt.
  • Learning the basic principles of cheese making, the use and care of your equipment, a little about milk, what cultures to use and lots more.

This workshop has 21 participants, you will make new friends sharing similar interests in home dairying, learn how to make additive-free cheeses and have a lot of fun. The workshop starts at 10:00 am and ends at 4:00pm. There is a one hour break for a delicious lunch with a sampling of some of our tasty cheeses. A FREE copy of Ricki Carroll's Cheese making 101 DVD is included with the class. These classes fill up very quickly, sign up is on a first-come-first-served basis. A letter of confirmation will be sent along with directions and a list of local places to stay as soon as payment is received.

Cancellation Policy:
For a Full Refund, notification must be given at least 2 weeks prior to the workshop date.

When a cancellation is received closer than 2 weeks prior to a workshop, we will not be able to offer a refund unless we can fill your spot from our waiting list.

Cheese making 101 class

The class was great! Not enough stars could express my satisfaction. Highly recommend it. We made six or seven different cheeses. Sampling was fun, delicious and motivating! And then we had lunch!

All my questions were answered thoroughly and politely. The price is right for all you get out of this class.
