|Who are we feeding?|
For the Christmas meal we had as many volunteers as guests at MANNA, and the question arises-who are we feeding? We feed the souls who come in for a meal for many reasons, and in doing so, we feed our own souls by creating community, harmony, fellowship and a chance to have a special spiritual experience together.
Is one group more advantaged or disadvantaged than another? Is this even the right question? We need each other for sustenance, for growth of body, mind and spirit.
We need each other to sit down and have conversations, which on any other day might be hard to even imagine when our worlds could be so far apart.
This is our soul connection, the bonding of human beings with each other - the careful attention to details, the preparation of the food, the conversations, the gift of unconditional love for all humanity. We need more of this in our everyday lives, a way to create harmony out of chaos, a way to love our brothers and sisters around the world and in our own backyards, a way to create peace for all.
May light and love fill our year and may we spread it far and wide.
In Peace, Ricki
