    NON-GMO and ORGANIC

I LOVE the fact this rennet is NON-GMO and Organic and the commitment of cheesemaking.com to not carry GMO rennet. Thank You!

I am almost out of the 2 oz size so I am back for more! I have used this for the past 2+ years with cow and goat; it is still going strong. I always get a good, clean beautiful curd break, also due to good raw fresh milk I use. Since it is double strength be sure to reduce the amount used--keeps the math skills sharp since there are no 1/6 tsp measures.

The rumors are wrong that vegetable rennet causes long aged cheeses to be bitter--at least not this vege rennet! I opened a year old cloth bound cheddar and it was delicious!

    Getting The Right Meausrement

I love the vegetable rennet as far as getting the milk to set. The only problem is that there is no single measuring spoon that is 1/6th tsp. I checked several websites for a source and could not find any. It would have been better if they would provide alternatives

    Works in all recipes

I only use veggie rennet, so i can not compare this to animal rennet but it works in all the recipes on this site. I only wish the recipes noted how much to use, are the recipes for this double strength rennet?

A great price for how much you get. Don't think I'll ever process 296 gallons of milk, but we'll try our best. Thanks, NECS!

    A very reliable rennet

I have had great success using this rennet with both cow and goat milk. While I prefer using raw milk for the best possible curd, my results are also quite good with pasteurized. Have not been disappointed with this product.

This is my "go to" rennet -

Absolutely no problem what so ever with this Rennet - use to make all sorts of cheeses.. and it sets GREAT.. you must cut the amount in half - as suggested on the directions - to get the consistency you want! Thank you for such a GREAT product!

    Wonderful cheese

    Good afternoon!

I really liked the organic vegetable rennet. Natural product, very useful for those who do not eat meat. The cheese gets very light and full of fragrant taste of the cheese. Hvatet a long time and is very easy to dissolve in water drops and add the milk. For me, the first time is making its first cheese is very good and a great product. Thank you

Super concentrated - a little goes a long way

I've used this for several years and have had consistently good results. We have Nubian goats, with heavy milk flow in Spring. Glad to have reliable vegetarian rennet for my chevre, feta, mozzarella & ricotta. I've recommended this product to several neighbors and friends - will continue to do so.

    variable results

I make only goat cheese and found I get different results with each batch, also. I've tried many variations with milk, temperature and amount of rennet. Sometimes it's foamy with lots of holes, sometimes too soft. It seems to come out better if I use much more rennet than called for. The cheese always tastes good, but I've only gotten the kind of curd I wanted once, and could never duplicate it.

    Some unpredictable results . . .

I have used this product with both raw and pasteurized milks. With raw goat milk, it produces a spongy curd like bubbly bread dough with all the whey expressed. I have tried different dosages down to 2 drops/gallon with the same results. My chevre and crottin have the texture of swiss. Good and interesting cheeses but not what I was intending. It works fine with pasteurized cow milk or cow/ goat combos.
